Houses of Parliament, The foundations of which were laid in 1885, & commemorative assembly was held here in 1886 to celbrate the 1000th year of the Hungarian state, but the huge building was only completed in 1904. The huge cupola with a height ofninety-six metres joins the wings of the former Lower & Upper Houses. Its total area is 17,000 square meters with the corridors forming ten courtyards.
